About the Speaker

Helen Costa is João Carlos Costa’s mother (autistic and non-verbal international author) and works alongside her son supporting his mission and serving as an aid to his writing because of his poor motor skills. She has worked in the field of education for over 25 years and her son’s autism diagnosis led her on a journey of self-discovery and a rebirthing of a new role as a woman, mother, and professional. She is a published author in Portugal and inspires and coaches women and mothers to reach their fullest potential following a path of transformation. She is an International Representative in Portugal of “Reunida” in Brazil in a quest of raising autism awareness and rights.
